Ridiculously prolific, his compositions have ranged far and wide over just about every genre of jazz. When the hell else are you gonna see this guy? It's a hell of an excuse to check out the BRAND NEW Yoshi's in SF!

Soul, soul, funky soul! Sharon, born in Augusta Georgia no less, is known to some as the Queen of Funk. It just doesn't get more authentic for roots soul music than this woman. Go dig her and her stellar band, it's a hell of a show.

Friday and Saturday shows! Fred is the legendary trombone player who, along with sax man Maceo Parker, basically defined the funk horn section (backing up none other than James Brown for all of his very best stuff). Fred's not a young man these days, and he very rarely comes around. This gig has him playing with a top notch New Orleans funk/jazz outfit called Groovesect. I'm reeeeeally tempted by this one...

BUY YOUR TICKET NOW. They're almost sold out, and trust me this man is nothing short of a bona fide phenom. His music is all over the map. From insanely creative rock and roll with a stellar backing band, to captivating solo compositions that involve live sampling of his incendiary violin and guitar, gorgeous singing, and virtuoso whistling. He is truly one of the most incredible performers I've ever seen. EVER. Balcony seats are still available, and if you buy one I'll sneak you down to the floor area to hang with the cool kids. Just go, kiddo!
