7/20/2004: Well, I tried to make this Showy quick... it didn't work.

It has to be a real quick Showy this week because I'm
stuck doing this on break here at work. I apologize
for shows that I'll inevitably miss by not spending
three hours on this, but here goes...

Yeah yeah, I know it's expensive but the word on the
street is that these cats are in top form right now.
They're about the best jam-rock outfit this side of
Phish in my opinion... and they have that great
bluegrass element as well. I'll be going on Wednesday

Still hearing great things about this rock band. I'll

~Zilla (String Cheese after party) @ 12 Galaxies: $15~
Featuring Michael Travis of String Cheese Incident
along with three other top Colorado players. It's a
late-night afterparty starting at 12:30, so as long as
you don't need sleep on your Wednesday night you'll be
fine...

~Karl Denson's Tiny Universe @ the Independent: $20~
Yeah to the yeah! I'm sooooo there. Karl D is the
funkiest sax-playin' motherfather on tour today. He
will make you shake and bounce and scream for more.
AND we get the pleasure of seeing him in a relatively
small room. Global Funk opens up. As of right now
tickets are still available, but they're sold out for
Friday night so get yours now and meet me at the show!

~Hot Buttered Rum String Band @ the Connecticut
Yankee: $8~
I almost didn't want to mention the other great
Thursday music because you'll have options other than
going to Karl... but this will be really cool. They're
a rockin' bluegrass band that should have an
interesting time stuffing themselves onto the tiny CT

This chick is definitely up-and-coming with just the
right blend of funky organ playing from her band to
keep her just to the side of the mainstream
pop/rock/soul danger zone. A cuter rock/soul singer
you never did see. She'll charm your heart out with
her honey-colored vocals.

Featuring the Push, Realistic, the Govnah, and
beatboxer extraordinaire Kid Beyond. THERE IS NO
BETTER CAUSE FOR A SHOW THAN TO KEEP THAT SUMBITCH
BUSH OUT OF THE WHITEHOUSE (in my humble opinion). I
try not to get political with these Showy messages,
but this time there's music involved. If you can see
some GREAT bands AND contribute to Kerry at the same
time... Anyway, I've heard good things about the Push,
Realistic is awesome (see above), and Kid Beyond is
beyond amazing, so just go for the music dammit.
