2/2/2005: Boom Boom Boom Boom

Well kiddies, I’ll give it to you straight. It’s all
about the Boom Boom Room this weekend. The band is
aptly called Motherlode and it’s essentially an
all-star cast plucked from some of the funkiest
soul-jazz, boogaloo, dance-your-ass-off bands you ever
did see. I’m headed there Saturday night and you
should be too!

The other big news is the kickoff of the two-week S.F.
Bluegrass & Old Time festival. All around the bay
there will be good-time heel-kickin’ string music to

keyboardist Ivan Neville. Excellent up-and-coming jam
rockers Animal Liberation Orchestra round out a hell
