thing when it comes to trying to put out the Showy McShow: No dice,
homeslice.
If this means you've missed out on some of the smokin' hot music
that's been around recently, you have my deepest apologies. This is
the fear that keeps me up at night.
And since I'm still absolutely buried time-wise, and probably will be
until the holidays, this tiny invite might be all I can muster for the
next little while. I hope not, but it'll be a challenge. I'll include
an UPCOMING list at the bottom so that at least you'll get some ideas
for where to get yer groove on over the next few weeks.
I'll be catching Trey Anastasio at the Warfield on Thursday night (how
is his latest band?), and I'm thinkin' about the Disco Biscuits on
Friday (supposed to be on a tear lately). Yet there is ONE extremely
unique and compelling show this weekend that I just HAD to tell you
all about. It's almost sold out, so jump on this one quick. It'll be
one hell of a night, and I cordially, no, COERCIVELY invite you to
join me:

Stanton Moore Trio | the New Mastersounds @ 12 Galaxies $25
One hell of a funky marathon, this gig will feature TWO whole freakin'
sets from each of these stellar bands. Up first is Stanton Moore, one
of my musical heroes. He is the funky 'Nawlins drummer you've seen
with Galactic, Garage a Trois, and several other kick ass funk bands.
His totally en-fuego trio sports funky guitar maestro Will Bernard and
organ wizard Brian Coogan. Then the New Mastersounds come on and hit
it hard. They're basically the Greyboy Allstars of the UK, nasty
boogaloo funk groovers all around. And with my favoritest DJ in the
land, Motion Potion, spinnin' between all those sets, the room will be
rockin' non stop. It'll be a late one...

Sorry I can't do descriptions of the following list right now... Dig
the String Cheese shows at the end of the month. I think I'll be
catching the one on the 30th if you're interested...
