1/21/2008: Anyone up for some Tuesday night tunes?

Showy McShow, man of mystery.

When will he appear? What will draw him near? Could it be a beer?

Probably.

This is a theory that only time, and relentless, rigorous testing, may be able to prove. In the meantime, I'd like to tell you about a band that you should join me in seeing on Tuesday night:

Sol'Jibe @ Elbo Room - $7
This six piece band was one of my favorite new finds at High Sierra Music Festival this past year. They're an acoustic-based roots/world mix of rock, flamenco, Latin, jazz, gypsy, bluegrass, and other styles I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fronted by an amazing violinist and a finger picking flamenco guitarist, they're just the ticket to rock the crap out of your Tuesday night. Things'll probably start around 9:30, I'll see you there!
Dig the violin around 2:20: http://youtube.com/watch?v=n5pIBzP1IOU

I'll return to you next week dear reader, with a much less brief update on all kinds of music that will surely leave your musical appetite more satisfied than this note has. Until then...
