Bicycle Film Festival @ Mighty $10
This super-cool film fest is in town at Mighty this
weekend only. Very cool night tonight featuring "Red
Light Go" (about Allycat messenger races) and "Stars
and Watercarriers" (Jorgen Leth documentary about the
amazing 1973 Tour of Italy). Live music provided by
Horizontal Dropout (extra points if you know what that
means!)

John Scofield @ Yoshi's Wed-Sun shows $12-22
Guitar guru Scofield is a master of improv and a treat
to see. He's with an accoustic-themed trio at Yoshi's

This is your Friday can't-miss show! The virtuoso
guitar and bass of Fareed Haque and Kai Eckhardt have
headed in new electronica-influenced directions lately
and let me tell ya, it's hot stuff. They're on the
attack. And who doesn't love the heel-kickin'
bluegrass of Hot Buttered Rum?

The Subdudes @ Great American Music Hall $18
A whole bunch of amazing improv/roots musicians
(including special guests Rob Wasserman, Jim Page, and
Vince Herman) make up this whacky band. The music
defies catagorization, but is made up from a variety
of accoustic instruments and clever improv vocals
layered in rich harmonies.
