My pick for this weekend’s hottest gig has to be Sam Kininger at the Elbo Room on Saturday. This sax playin’ fool has been with two of my absolute favorite groove bands (Soulive and Lettuce), and I can’t wait to hear what he has cooked up for us with his own group of guys. Herman is the guitarist, singer, and founder for Leftover Salmon and is a ‘slamgrass’ (really fast bluegrass) pioneer. He joins new-school bluegrass rockers Shanti Groove on stage at 12 Galaxies for a heel kickin’ good time. Sunday show at the Sweetwater in Mill Valley .
