10/20/2004: SF Music Awards FREE and Umphrey's McGEE.

Hi ya'll!

Good news: SF Weekly just hooked me up with 4 $100 VIP
passes to the SF Music Awards tomorrow night
(Thursday) at Ruby Skye. It includes food, OPEN BAR,
and an outstanding lineup of music (see below). 3
tickets go to the first 3 peeps that let me know
you're down. Should be a lot of fun!

Oh yeah, GO RED SOX!

|||||| WEDNESDAY 10/20 ||||||

Martin Sexton @ Fillmore $20
Word on the street is that this singer/songwriter is
an amazing guy to see. His music is described as being
honest and soulful with intricacy, depth, and an
outstanding amount of sheer talent.

|||||| FRIDAY 10/22 ||||||

Umphrey's Mcgee @ Great American Music Hall $16
I'm stoked these guys are back in SF (missed 'em last
time). They're one of the most innovative jam bands on
the scene today mixing a hugely diverse range of
influences. I'm goin'... you?

Realistic Orchestra @ Elbo Room $8
Our favorite humongous break-beat orchestra will be
doing their best to blow down the flimsy walls at the
Elbo. Get ready for a serious wall of sound, they're
incredible.

Bobby Vega, Alan Hertz, Eric Leavy @ Connecticut
Yankee $10
These cats are all-stars. This room is small. They
will funk it up for two nights.

Amendola, Bernard, Blades @ Bruno's $10
Three of the best funky musicians in town, no
question. They are drums, guitar, and bass, and will
be sure to kick some nasty grooves.

Papa Mali & the Instigators @ Boom Boom Room $14
Southern fried swamp funk is the stuff from Mali.
Expect some deep-groovin' New Orleans sounds. Alfred
