show email message. If you want to be removed from the list at this
point, I don't blame you at all.
It doesn't mean that I'll remove you of course. I'm just lettin' you
know I empathize.

Various & Sundry @ Bimbo's 365 $22
Okay, I like the name. And you've gotta love the venue (I definitely
need to go to Bimbo's more often now that I think of it). But the band
is why I felt compelled to email you all. Don't ever settle for
anything less from your local Showy. This Saturday night we'll be
getting quite a musical treat in the form of some of the best young
alt-bluegrass-folk-rock-roots singer/songwriters in all the land.
Various & Sundry is based on a project from the amazing Sean and Sara
Watkins of Nickel Creek. It will be a night of varied and beautiful
strings and vocal harmonies, to be sure.
Sara describes the band:
"The official band is my brother Sean and myself, Glen Phillips
(formor lead singer of Toad the Wet Sprocket and one of our favorite
rock singers and songwriters with whom we've collaborated before),
Grant Lee Phillips (of the highly influential band Grant Lee Buffallo
and an other great writer, singer and performer), Luke Bulla (a fiddle
and guitar player who I've known since I was eleven and is great fun
to sing with).
We're really going to work hard to make this so much more than a few
solo people who are sharing the same stage - we are going to be a
band, playing and singing the great, new material from each member.
The performances we've done so far have been like candy for us."
This from a girl who turns my knees to Jello when she sings or plays
fiddle. Let's go.
