Brownout @ El Rincon - $10
Austin's Grupo Fantasma has blown me away with their rippin' take on Afro/Cuban/Latin Jazz on several occasions. They're one of Prince's favorite bands in fact. True story, and seeing them is a rare treat here in SF. This Saturday these same musicians are bringing their side project, Brownout, to blow the roof off El Rincon in the Mission. Brownout takes the same Latin jazz base, and infuses it with a healthy dose of deep, heavy funk. Just the thing to keep your feet movin' and your ass shakin', this will be a hell of a good time. The party also includes funky jazztronica DJ Chicken George. The price is right, the grooves will be hot, get your sexy ass down and rock the hell out!
