Wow. Speechless. Well, Almost. . .

There is just one little thing. . .

STEVIE WONDER!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Seriously though, I'm still shaking from this two days later. I think the song 'All Day Sucker' will be in my head for the rest of the week, and quite possibly for the rest of my life. Which would be alright, 'cause it's funky as hell.

And speaking of life, I think that having Stevie Wonder join Supertaster on a tiny stage at my 30th birthday party might well have made the best night of my entire young life so far. There is literally no living musician I would have rather had on that stage. Absolutely none. Wow.

There are a lot of thank-yous that need to be said. First and most importantly thank you ALL for sharing this with me. Including those who were there in person AND there in spirit! You, my friends, are what makes me love this life more than anything else. How could I possibly thank you enough for that?

And my dear Sarah, who didn't end up having to hold my hair (though from the massive hangover it probably would've been for the best), who was on the ball all night with photos and cupcakes and generally being the most awesome girl ever.

And to Destruments and Adam Willis, for waking the room the hell up and for putting up with seated dinner stragglers while we all hooted and hollered from the bar. And for doing the first Stevie Wonder cover of the night. Clearly y'all done set some kinda tone.

And to the Jazz Mafia, Supertaster, Adam T, Joe, Karyn, Jon, Matt, Dublin, and Seneca for putting on a hell of a soulful funky show (complete with a Beatles Birthday Song!). So funky in fact that Stevie m-f-ing Wonder got up out of his comfy seat, waded through the crowd, and hit the stage to tear the roof off the joint with you cats.

And finally to Stevie, because damn, he didn't in any way have to do that. He ONLY did it because he was feelin' the music, the electricity of it, because he lives and breathes the stuff like maybe no one else does. He did it just because he wanted to. I mean. . . Damn.

SO MUCH love to you all! And crap, next year I am screwed.
